Affiliate disclosure
Dogtur is reader-supported. Some links on this site — especially on review and comparison pages — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you.
As an Amazon Associate, Dogtur earns from qualifying purchases.
What this means in practice
- Every page with affiliate links carries a disclosure box at the top.
- Commissions never influence rankings or verdicts. Product selections are currently based on research: published specifications, independent testing by other publications (always attributed), and analysis of verified owner reviews. We have not yet completed hands-on testing of our own — see our methodology for exactly what goes into a review today.
- We recommend products we'd suggest to a friend with a senior dog, whether or not a link pays us.
- Affiliate programs we may participate in include (but aren't limited to) Amazon Associates and pet-retailer partner programs. Specific programs are named on the pages where they appear.
Why affiliate revenue
Running a review site costs money — hosting, research time, and eventually buying products retail to test them ourselves. Affiliate commissions are what make the site sustainable, and they are the reason we publish verdicts instead of selling sponsored placements. Hands-on testing is on our roadmap; when we complete it, we'll update our methodology and say so plainly.
