Champion of My Heart Site 15th Anniversary

Honestly, I can’t imagine our Champion of My Heart site celebrating its 15th anniversary. This small independent site continues to progress. Forget the so called YEAR OF THE DOGS It’s more than an EON AGO in publishing. The first message was posted on April 13, 2007, a Friday the 13th. It’s funny to come back to the initial content. Apparently I had more time for my craft and was much more lyrical back then. Lately I’ve been focusing on providing interesting and practical information on dogs and veterinary topics, with the occasional more personal article about my current generation of dogs. Take a look back (and forward) with me, huh?

Once upon a time…Champion of my heart

My initial hopes were to create a real-time essay-style memoir about our original canine heroine, Lilly, who died of a severe/rare reaction to the rabies vaccine. But, between 2007 and 2013, I chronicled his life as best I could.

After Lilly died, it took me a while to figure out how to move on. In the meantime, I’ve written an Amazon bestseller on pet loss called Heart Dog – Surviving the Loss of Your Canine Soul Mate.

I sputtered for a while even after Clover and Tori joined our family, and then Mr. Stix too.

Our Champion of My Heart site is also famous enough around the world for providing FREE access to audio/video files that greatly facilitate the application of the canine relaxation protocol. Protocol information remains – by far – the content that attracts the most attention. Beyond that, however, the top 25 pages (all time) look like this:

  1. relaxation protocol
  2. A beginner’s guide to puberty in dogs
  3. Why I chose traditional sterilization
  4. When a Puppy’s UTI Won’t Go Away
  5. Feeling guilty for having another dog after his death
  6. Relaxation Protocol Background / Explanation Post
  7. The main blog page
  8. Relaxation protocol day 1 audio file
  9. dog etiquette
  10. Explanation of a veterinary neurological examination
  11. Dogs That Won’t Eat – Myths and Facts About Picky Eaters
  12. An article about a nasty spider bite
  13. Does the relaxation protocol work?
  14. Adverse vaccine reaction/behavioral changes
  15. Ergot accident – grooming gone wrong
  16. Is a current rabies vaccination enough to protect dogs exposed to rabies?
  17. Titration test in dogs
  18. Naming a puppy – why Clover?
  19. Our about us page
  20. Canine genetic testing – thumbs up and thumbs down
  21. Our contact page
  22. Bully sticks and broken teeth
  23. Dog spider bite treatment
  24. Neutropenia in Dogs
  25. Incontinent Dogs/Diaper Options

If there’s any type of content you really want or need, let me know, and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

And after?

In 2022, I’m making a better job offer every week, so there you have it. Did you notice? Are you interested? *wink Are you already a subscriber?

I’m also doing more original video content for publications. It takes time, but it gives you another option. I am including the same information from the video as text for those who prefer consumer information that way. I understand that you often don’t have time to sit down and watch a 15 or even 30 minute video like How Not to Get Fired as a Vet Client.

I’m working on the first in a series of children’s books about Mr. Stix.

Look for new affiliate partnerships with fun/fresh products for dogs and dog lovers so the site can better support itself (and me). I only connect with companies or products that match my personal brand and my readers. I turn down a lot of offers because they seem vet sketchy or almost comically expensive (and I would never recommend you waste the money). However, if you scroll down this page, you will see a pug handbag that I 100% need. Yes, the new affiliate sends me one for free. Eeeeeee! Since the dog attack in November 2021, I definitely need a fun summer handbag.

The site needs a big design, like what I did for my site as a professional writer recently, but this site is only 16 pages, and this one is huge compared to that.

I plan to recreate our online store using a new platform and new products as well. That’s another big task, so we’ll see. Is not it?

For now, take a look at these 15 year stats from our Champion of My Heart site!

It just dawned on my mind, with my 30th wedding anniversary also in April, that our Champion of My Heart site has existed for half of my marriage…ROTFLMAO. Does that count as having a teenager at home?
